Pele Necklace - Silver, Wire Wrap, Lava, Bronze
The necklace is a a pendant hanging from a snake chain featuring wire wrap detail. The pendant is compose of a large natural lave donut measuring 1 1/2" (40mm), a bronze etched disc, and silver dangle that are layered and held together by an intricate wire wrap bail.
The dangle is a rough cast shape made of silver and was used 16th century Thailand for currency. The pieces often have flower indentations and so these pieces are referred to as flower money.
A note on the process: All of the wire wrapping is done by hand, with multiple steps of wrapping and coiling several gauges of wire to create a layered, complex result.
All metal used in this is Sterling Silver, except the bronze disc. People with sensitivity to certain metals may have a reaction to the alloys in bronze.
Dimensions: the pendant height from the top of the bail is 2 3/4" (68mm), and width is 1 1/2" (40mm).
The price includes a 18" long snake chain (3mm).
